These projects consisted of a collection of custom-built automation tools designed to eliminate repetitive manual IT work at HF & VUCFYN, saving significant time and reducing the risk of human error. Eg. a Chrome extension was developed to automatically fetch class data and populate their online portal with relevant information - including learning materials, teacher contact details, and introduction videos - removing the need for staff to manually enter this information for each class. Alongside this, Puppeteer-based applications were built to extract data from their existing systems into Google Docs and Google Sheets, where Google Apps Script was then used to filter, search, and act on the data. Practical use cases included identifying students who had not yet logged into the system, allowing staff to proactively reach out and offer support. Another key feature was the automated handling of assignment deadlines. The tools detected when due dates fell within school holidays and automatically adjusted and re-uploaded them to the portal, ensuring students always had accurate deadlines without requiring every teacher to manually log in and update their own classes.
